John and Lauri Lea
Camp Administrator and Pastor
John and Lauri Lea are from the Rockwall area and decided to plant a church that is now called Generations Church. They have led Generations Church for 11 years and have faithfully done so. The Lord opened up an opportunity for Generations Church to purchase this land and camp that we call Sabine Creek Ranch at the beginning of 2020. In collaboration, the Leas will continue to lead both Sabine Creek Ranch and Generations Church in hopes of seeing Sabine Creek Ranch further minister to all of those that join us here at the Ranch. Lauri Lea is our new camp administrator and Pastor John continues to lead Generations Church.
Aaron Rogers joined the Sabine Creek team in 2018. He grew up going to camp, attending his first one as a 3 week old in his mother’s arms, and coming to know Jesus at a summer camp when he was 17. After graduation from Dallas Baptist University in 2015 with a degree in Camp/Sport Leadership, Aaron spent several years in Europe where he played semi-pro basketball and served as a missionary using the world of sports and camps to share the Gospel. His favorite thing about working at Sabine Creek is seeing people come in with an expectation only to leave different and ready to spread their newfound life everywhere they go.
Chef & Maint. Director
Jose Arellano joined the Sabine Creek team in 2005. Originally hired to build a kitchen, he volunteered to prepare dinner for a group staying at the Ranch after they evacuated New Orleans from Hurricane Katrina. That meal revealed his great talents as a chef! He now wears many hats at the camp, and is an integral part of the team! He and his wife, Irma, have three adult children and reside in Royse City.
Karen didn’t grow up in Texas, but, as the saying goes, she got here as fast as she could. She met her husband, Tom, in a church singles group and they have two grown sons. Karen came to Sabine Creek in 2016 and feels completely blessed to work with an incredible staff in an environment in which the goal is to share the love of Christ with everyone who visits. In her spare time, she loves to knit, work on home projects, and travel.
Day Camp Director
Rebekah Hawkins joined the Sabine Creek staff in 2019 and is thrilled to be a part of the team here at Sabine Creek Ranch. Rebekah earned her undergraduate degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Texas A&M University in 2010. After graduation, she taught upper elementary school for nine years. Rebekah is excited to transfer her “teacher skills” over to “day camp skills.” Rebekah’s husband, Jarrid, is a local student minister. They have two children, Hannah and Haddon. In her spare time, Rebekah loves to bake, read, and make schedules.
